Karna was one of the heroes and the central character among the greatest warriors described in the Mahabharata. In Hindu epics he is described as the king of Anga kingdom which is located in present day Bhagalpur and Munger.
Karna was the son of Suryadeva and Kunti and accordingly the elder brother of the Pandavas. But he eventually became a close friend of the Kaurava prince Duryodhana and consequently fought for the Kauravas against his brother Pandavas in the Battle of Kurukshetra.
