Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay is one of the greatest fiction writers, novelists of Bengali language. Besides, he was actively involved in the Indian independence movement and for this, he spent a few days in jail. After being released from jail, he met Rabindranath Tagore in Santiniketan, after that Tarashankar dedicated himself to literature. His first novel "Chaitali Ghurni" was released in 1932.
