Shakti Chattopadhyaya was a popular poet. He used the pseudonym- 'Sphulinga Sammadar' to write stories in his first life. His first poem was printed in "Kobita" Patrika and gain a reputation around the "Krittivas" magazine which is edited by Sunil Gangopadhyay. His writing poetry book 'Jete Pari Kintu Keno Jabo' translated into English and Maithili Language which is published in 1982. he won the Sahitya Akademi Award for poetry in 1983.
